HND IS A WELL RECOGNIZED AND POPULAR PATHWAY TO CERTIFICATION AND EVEN A BACHELOR’S DEGREE

Higher National Diploma (HND) is a diploma given for vocational training that prepares the student for a career in a particular area. Good students may continue on to complete their Bachelor’s degree with another year of studies at cooperating international universities. HND takes 3-years of full time study to complete in China.

HND courses combine academic theory and practical experience, offered in a wide range of subjects from engineering, computing and construction to the built environment, leisure and tourism, business and IT. Often work placements or work-related experience is involved.

The HND attainment level can in some cases be marginally below that of a bachelor's degree. It is quite common for those who have achieved an HND to add to their qualification by progressing to other levels such as professional qualifications, or a degree. HND is graded as Pass, Merit and Distinction with Distinction the highest grade and Pass the lowest grade. On graduation, students are permitted to use the postnominals 'HND' (and usually followed by the course name in brackets) after their name. HND is internationally recognised by business, industry and professional bodies.

BTEC HND IN BRITAIN, IRELAND & WALES
